yes, let us know if you have a part number to cross over from an auto parts store or something, my buddy also has the same 08 as me and his main went out and it costed him 30 bucks for a replacement from the dealer!! you can get relays at auto parts stores for like 10 bucks if we could cross reference parts numbers somehow!!

Okay ... the relays from Can A, are 15 amp relays , the fulll system draws 22 amps on our bikes. 2 choices Freightliner dealer or Napa, ask for 3 "Bosch" relays with pigtails.
Freightliner is less expensive, but the same electically.
Ask for 3 bosch relays with sockets and pigtails. I paid $45.00 for all three 30 amp relays with 12" pigtails on them. PM me if you have issues with this step!
buy 15 heatshrink blue connectors , make the nesc connections and seal the heat shrink to make the connections weathertight. fill the relay connectors front and back with Silicone Die-electric grease to prevent corrossion and intrusion.
cut the wires at different spots by 1 inch to allow you to make the splices w/o making a huge splice in one spot .
issues are left behind.... PM ME if this does not make sense, I can provide part #'s if needed.

dont the '10 and '11 450's have better relays? if so, couldn't i just order some and they would be a direct replacement?

its not that im uncomfortable hacking into my wiring harness, but this is on my dads 450, not mine.

Can AM says that the new ones are operating correctly ..... I have had a few fail
Failure is not an option on the track!
yes for normal use they should work fine, but i would be sure to "pack " the connectors with silicone dieelectric grease. to prevent corrossion and hot spots

i found a relay at napa that may work. the part no. is AR606
Store Locator | NAPA Online

i also looked up the number on the relay and found a manufacturer's data sheet.
AZ988-1CT-12DC1R pdf, AZ988-1CT-12DC1R description, AZ988-1CT-12DC1R datasheets, AZ988-1CT-12DC1R view ::: ALLDATASHEET :::

it says it will handle 30 amps, and up to 27 Volts.

i dont want to put my plastics back on until i know this relay is going to work...

Where is the stock data sheet, this is a NAPA cross reference? Looks like the sensitive coil option has a higher ohm resistance I am thinking because it has thicker copper wire and will last longer. The wider contact gap option larger points that will last longer..The way I am interpreting that, call the company and ask. I just wondering if those options have the same "operate and release time" the standard does?

If you could post the stock data sheet we could compare the life expectancy, operate and release time which is how fast the points open and close. The ECU processing speed is rated this way, in milisecs, how fast it sends voltage signals to the relays, the faster the better for both.

If you look at the wire diagram battery voltage charges the coil which sets up a magnetic field(+/-) to close magnetic points when the ECU tells it to, or open them. Relays like fuel and main will see more cycles than say the fan.
