President's Day - Glamis!!!

So...a bunch of my buddies go to Glamis every year for President's Day to ride for the week.

I have heard Glamis can get pretty crazy and crowded but was wondering if President's Day is one of those weekends? Also, is it THAT crowded where it's not any fun to ride, or even safe due to drunken stooper, wheelie riding banshee guys????

It can get crowded, but there's so much terrain, it'll be fine. Just be careful around oldsmobile hill and the drags, especially at dusk/night. What days are u guys going?

Midweek glamis is usually empty though...

should be driving out early Thursday morning or maybe split a night in Vegas, wed night! (16 or 17 Feb). Not sure where we're even staying but I'll update here cause I would REALLY like to meet some of you that ride out that way while I'm there! We'll definitely hook up w/cell #'s or something!

As it gets closer, I'll post details here about where we'll be staying! It will most likely be my 14yr old and myself. Wife/younger kids might not be a good idea w/that crowded of a weekend!

Yes totally still worth going. I might be in on Presidents day but not sure yet. It really is a family friendly place as long as you are careful, I started riding there when i was 4!

Ya, I'm excited. just worried about the younger ones! 7 boy, 5 girl...never rode before (haven't even found a quad for em yet)...don't want them to have to learn in a crowded place!

they rent side by sides on site! my wife and kids ride in our polaris and they love it, my son just turned 2 in november and has been to glamis 4 times already, and my daughter is 12 and loves it. my wife is not a fan of the dunes riding wise but loves the "site seeing" and "people watching", and it can be family friendly. drags can get crazy as the sun goes down because of so many riders being there, but is still a sight to see, and olds hill is crazy at night on the weekends, but camping is not like you are stacked on top of each other, the family would have fun

Cool. Wife doesn't like tenting it, so we might just leave the quads w/our friends and their trailers and head to a hotel for the night after the boos, and good times. Are there any hotels that aren't obnoxiously far away?

brawley is about 20 miles down the road, but look into trailer rentals, google glamis toyhauler rentals and you can get a travel trailer delivered to your campsite for less than a hotel and then you dont have to go 20 miles up the road at night after drinking!! there are a few different companies that do this. they deliver it, set it up, then come pick it up when you are finished. nighttime around the campfire is half the fun, and night rides, so look into that

That's the best news I've heard all year! LOL...i'll definitely look into that...trust me, i understand the night rides, drinking and horseshoes being some of the best parts! Any companies that you can recommend?

i've never done it personally, and its glamis rv rentals to google, but some friends have and they loved it, we just tent it in our giant stupid cabin tent that takes half the day to set up!! as you can tell, i am trying hard for a hauler! but there are a few companies on there.
