california gas can laws

so i just got 2 new white racing jugs for christmas and now i heard if i bring them to glamis i will get a ticket for them! any of you cali guys know if this is true or not? unbelievable!

whaaaaaat? ive never heard of that law. who told you? did they say why it would be illegal? only reason i could think of is that red is for gas, yellow diesel, blue race gas and i forget what white is "designated" for...but i dont see why it would matter....prob false though....almost anything goes in glamis

Drat! The wife bought me a yellow plastic can for premium fuel since it matched the DS450 color.

Does california have a emisions/venting law covering gas cans?

they passed those new greenhouse gas laws in december, the thinking is that your can evaporates gas at a rate of 1/2 gallon every 2 years or something, so your cans now have to have those spill proof tops on them and gas is designated red now so any other container and you may be subject to a ticket!! funny cuz those "spill proof" tops make you spill more gas than you would ever evaporate!! so i bought a can of red spray paint and will chance it this weekend! you all will find out if i get a ticket on sunday!!

not just that, it can be red and they will still ticket you for not having the new "spill proof" tops! but they dont sell them for any of the old styles, you gotta buy a new can also, so your old ones end up filling up the landfills! what is it with liberals that they dont think with any sort of common sense?!

Honestly I wouldn't worry about it. If they try and ticket u just play dumb. You can set a xmas tree on fire out there but god forbid u soak it in gas from a nonSpill proof can.
