I didn't like the "no riding doubles" rule but do see why they implemented that...to elminate idiots doing wheelies w/their g/f on the back! That just fouled up plans for me to throw my 4 yr old on to watch the drags....I had to drive my truck up to the top of the drag strip and we couldn't go on any family rides.
But I was impressed w/the security/rangers out there and that they did provide it on busy weekends

you also went on a weekend right after a ton of rain for the last 5 days, so the sand was really heavy, it usually is not. and you were actually 40 miles south of glamis, at the south dunes, glamis is the northern end. next year we can take you on a ride to china wall where you can be pinned in 4th and 5th the whole ride, let us know the weekend next year, and we can try to plan a whole bunch of us out there!

Ya too bad you didnt see the good dunes. Thats why gordon's isnt the best place to stay IMO. I think the best dunes are the furthest north near osborn lookout and all through there. That is some trippy shit out there. I was once in a bowl out there pinned in 5th (on a 2 stroke so somewhere around 50 -60 mph) and it literally took like 30 sec to get all the way around it. Some of the big ones out there are like another planet. Put it this way, some of my family lives in Sacramento and they went to Sand Mountain once and liked it to watch the crazy stuff. They have thought about going back a couple times. However, they make sure to make the spring Glamis trip every year and have been back to Glamis at least 6 times despite the 11 hour drive. You gotta come with us one time and see the real dunes!

Then again if I lived 1.5 hrs from Sand Mountain I prob would go there way more too. Same reason I go to Pismo even during Glamis season.
