Can-Am DS 450 Modification Arrives
Massive Cranks Yield Impressive Numbers
By: Jason Giacchino

Can-Am DS 450 fans have cause for celebration as a new performance modification is about to be unleashed for the power hungry. In developing the largest stroker crank for the Can-AM DS 450 ATV, Falicon Crankshafts Components partnered with Eric Oldham at Oldham Machine Works (OMW). Together they pushed the envelope by stroking the OEM crankshaft + 8mm (68.8mm overall stroke), balanced to a 14:1 high compression stroker piston.

This process turns the 450 into a whopping 508.4cc without altering the stock bore set-up! By boring the stock cylinder 99mm, the displacement numbers get even crazier at 529.6cc.

This set-up is exclusively offered through OMW and the kit package includes: Beehive spring kit, billet intake race cam, head porting, Falicon stroker crank with Knife Rod (customer must supply crank core), 14:1 stroker piston, including a power commander map for this combo. Currently a + 10mm (70.8mm overall stroke) crank is in development that would produce 523.2cc with the stock bore configuration, and 545cc with the 99mm bore option.

theres pictures of the bike that had the 7.5mm crank put in it (505)cc
eric(mrhp) builds some of the fastest single cylinder motors on the planet in 300 ift. (3.7's) ds650's.

i dont see why this is a "joke"......i wouldnt do these mods unless i was a hill shooter or dragger

OOOOHHH Come on, really!

Eric, aka Mr. Horsepower, has the fastest four stroke bikes in the world...... And guess what they are. DS650 rotax motor drag bikes! He only works on CanAm stuff....... Well I should say 99% of his work is on the rotax.

I understand that he is a drag racer! That is what he does. He does not work on MX tracks or does anything to build smooth power out of corners on a track. He extracts the MOST amount of power out of a motor!

I think it is great that there are more then three builders for these motors. Back in the day, there were only two major builders for Rotax. Mr. Horsepower, and The Bom. Now look what you guys have! I am jealous! The more builders you have, the lower the cost will be on these motors.

Hello there,

I used this crank in my engine and it broke down after 2 hours off riding.
Than I changed it to fit with the original piston.
It broke down after 2 hours off riding.
The problem I had was that the pistonpin was rubbin into the piston.
Lot off power in the bottom but for 2 hours it is to expensive.
