Motoworks FMI tuning

Alright,

So I need to do some tweaking to my bike over the winter after I install the new G2 exhaust, but I am kind of at a loss on how to go about fine tuning it..I looked at the sheet that comes w/the FMI but it just goes into how to adjust the settings, not how to adjust the settings according to how your bike is running, lean/fat, etc...

So...for the guys who have an FMI or any fuel controller, how are you tuning it? Plug chop, feel of the throttle???

I'm at about 5K feet above sea level and I know that makes a difference, but I will have the following mods when I finally get to tuning it before I go to Glamis in Feb for President's Day....full G2 exhaust, race ecu, velocity larger filter kit, motoworks FMI..

Any help/advice on tuning it would be appreciated.

I'm asking myself the same question!..

Noticed some green/red/yellow lights showing up on the fmi when giving thottle.. But I don't know what they means and why the color is changing.

X450MX - those lights that move w/the throttle indicate what range of FMI that you are currently in. Like the first light is idle, 2nd is 1/4 - 3/4 throttle, 3rd is 3/4 to WOT. I'm not sure if those are exact, but that is the basic idea. That way if you feel it drop on 3/4 - full throttle, you can adjust that setting.

they just give basic information on the settings. I am just scared that i'm running too lean and don't want to throw a piston...

ya,. called another guy over there just now and they said they recommend factory settings and work altitude adjustments from there - down =less gas (lean), up = more gas (rich)...so i'll just be careful i guess!

I just went from the factory settings they gave me and modified as needed. With just a pipe and velocity filter you won't be too far away from those settings. Usually you only need to modify the first 3 lights... green, yellow, and red. I would write down the stock settings so you know where to go back to if you get messed up or forget. If you look up wiseco fmi on youtube they give a great walk through.

destined to always be behind me puto lmao
def makes me think the loss of power on the top tho is sprockets and not crummy tuning tho...since its only throttle position and not gear selection...i wonder how different the PC3 is...
