sorry to revive this post, but... i have the same problem.
My original battery died after 3 months, They put a new one and died after 10 minutes... so my battery is not charging. They tested and in fact isn't charging. They change the rectificator and still equals. I check my fuses and seem's to be ok.
Hope my dealer find the solution.
What they should do?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks guys.

you guys are doing a loaded and unloaded test on the stator right??
your numbers should all be consistent, I haven't done it on the ds yet...
loaded should be around 13-15v and unloaded should be around 25-35v
they all need to be consistent!!!

Hey guys i had this problem once, but i had an aftermarket harness. My problem was the plug that plugs into the rectifier, one wire was not plugged into the correct post on the plug so my rectifier was not working, and it was just draining the battery. I think either that or the stator. To know if a wire is in the wrong post you are gonna have to have a stock rectifier plug to check it. Let me know if thats the problem, thanks

we have changed the harness, the rectifier, coils plug wires selenoid , and we are on battery number 10 in the practice bike.... the rectifier/stator tests out 100 % by the book ...
but I think the stator is the problem .... I even removed the magneto to have the magnets checked to make sure that they were not cracked .
I am going to replace the stator while i have the engine apart refreshing it...
we do not have this problem on either of the other bikes ... the way i see it the stator is all that is left

process of elimination when it comes to charging systems has to be something wrong with the stator if it's not the reg/rec... I'll ask my instructor if he's ever came across anything like this before..
Just curious.. when you start the engine and test the charging system voltage at the bat.. what it the voltage?
what was the stator resistance?
stator insulation breakdown?
I need to hurry and buy the manual!!!

sounds like your stator is on its way out. @ high revs it vibrates and wont charge. put a multimeter on ya battery and tap it on the bike. take her for a ride and see what it is putting out maybe the go?

wow, i need to correct myself, it wasn't the stator, they think need to change the stator, but finally found a cut wire on the battery. The red cable (positive) was damaged....
