Question Does motoworks solve all the clutch problems?

So I just paid 699 for the motoworks........"clutch basket assembly" as it's called on my invoice. Is this a full clutch system with everything I"m going to need? I get it tomorrow so I guess I'll find out then but was wondering if anyone knew. I'm hoping my worries are gone.

I still have the stock basket and no clutch squeal. I did have the dealership install the new clutch cover w/the hole drilled!

Question

OK so it looks like I got a clutch drum, clutch hub and inner plate?

What do I still need? A 9th clutch plate? Where to get it? Through canam?

Why does the clutch drum look so different than the one in the parts catalog? Is that a good thing? (i guess the clutch drum is minus the drive gear? clutch drum=clutch basket?? so they will have to shear the rivots off the old clutch basket i guess and use the stock drive gear? someone was saying in another thread motoworks included the drive gear.)

Those are nice looking billet parts….the advantage you have buying the assy as a whole is MW should have match machine the mating surfaces, did a fit check, and your machined hub is much stronger than stock casting. BCS does this if you send them your hub. That’s an advantage over mixing a stock hub, etc, with an aftermarket basket you should see more cycle life and reliability, a clutch explosion can be costly so good for you.

Yes drum is another word for basket, then your hub and inner plate in your photo's. You are missing the gear that attaches to the basket. I'm not familular with MW and I cant tell if those are bolts on your basket….I'm assuming they are since I doubt MW's expects you to drill out the old rivets and install new ones, not sure if your stock gear rivets on doubt it or you need MW's bolt on probably a new one either case for sure, or how many plates to run ask them..... The 2009-9 did add another plate, but that is a question for MW based on the maching depth of their hub which 2009-9 also changed to give room for the 9th plate from what I gathered from the bulletin.

As stated you also want the xtra hole in the cover for oil fogging per the update.

With that you did good and should be ready to go. Good luck!

The bolts are stronger than rivets so hope your are BCS uses them...forgot to mention if so red lock tight them in. You may want to ask MWs if the stock springs work too.
