Won't start
Yea so it's finally my turn to make a post about an issue with my ds. This is the first issue that I have encountered with my ds (other then my junk velocity filter falling off).
Basically I rode my quad last weekend like i normally do for the majority of the day, just a normal trail ride with the guys. It acted fine the whole time, no issues during the ride, washed it when I got home like always and put it away in the garage.
Then yesterday, I go to get it out of the garage and for some odd reason it won't start. I can hear the fuel pump kick on and it cranks and cranks but won't start. It will pull start behind another quad. After doing that it started on it's own everytime during the ride.
And now today.... Same story as yesterday. I'm stumped.

Test the clutch and neutral switch by trying to start in gear and in neutral. Have your battery tested it could be low on CCA's. Jump accross your solenoid or to the starter, see if it starts. Check all fuses like the starting systems.

Have you changed your spark plugs lately? That can play a huge factor, its something small and simple, but its amazing the difference they make!

What's your valve lash? A tight intake valve will exhibit the same symptoms.

assuming your batt is fully charged , and you tried to jump it at the selenoid

Ok checked all the fuses and relays and changed my plugs. Battery was low from cranking on it so I charged it. It still won't start on it's own. It'll start when being pulled behind something.... But now it's smoking, only when I give it gas and not at an idle. The smoke is white which I know is oil.
Cracked ring?

sometimes if your battery is low you could get a week spark and hard to start!!!
you need to do a batt load test.. just because your battery's fully charged doesn't mean it's good.
but definitely white smoke is not good... how about oil level?? to much can make it smoke and
hard on cold starting!!!

Are you sure its white smoke? because if your oil level is a little high they tend to smoke when you blip the throttle. Id check your valve clearances.
