Exhaust cam mod

I know somebody will say there are a million threads about this but, I have looked all over for a thread talking about how to properly shim the exhaust cam that will be going in. And also how to set the timing with the new exhaust cam. I have searched and searched the forms for the answer to those to questions and cannot find an answer to either of them. Also where am I able to buy the shims to do the adjustment, I know the tolerance is 9.98 and some people say that a 9.48 shim will work and other people are using 10mm shims, so if anybody could shine some light on those questions I would greatly appreciate as for I'm in the middle of getting my bike ready for the race season that is vastly approaching and would like to be in Florida for the opener of the gncc race and want to be down there without having to worry about if my four wheeler will run correctly when I get down there. Thanks for any help

We have been using the 9.48 mm shims and havent had a problem, and as for timing you just line up the tic marks on the cam srockets when u have the crank at top dead center

9.48 is the diameter of the shim, not the part that adjust your clearance.
