the way you do it is this!!! undo the drain plug as well as the cap on the coolant tank, let drain. after that turn your bike on but dont turn over. just push the start button and let it go before it starts the engine. this will turn on the pump, and not the the engine and wont heat up the engine with no coolant.oh yeah!! keep doing this till no coolant comes out and waa laa, coolant drained.

Best way to get air out of system after refilling?

What is the capacity of the coolant system? Do I need 1 or 2 jugs of Engine Ice?

Thanks!

One jug should do the trick, it did on mine. Loose/ take off hose at the highest point of the cooling system. When cooloant came out of the ftiiting I topped off the res. I did that and had no problems.

Don't get your undies in a bunch. It was just a question, if you did you could go to that for the drain plug. Now that we got that out of the way.

Bottom bolt of the water pump is where you drain the coolant, and you can remove the bottom hose on the radiator to drain the radiator. When coolant is drained reassemble and fill with distilled water. Run quad to operating temperature at idle, then shut off quad drain the system again and repeat. Not hard just time consuming. Since the res is above radiator your radiator, the radiator will fill from res. There is a small line on top of the radiator you could loosen to make sure it is full.

I didn't mean for that to sound bad, sorry. I didn't know there was a plug at the top of the radiator.

Thanks

Is your automobile's radiator prepared to conquer the summer warmth? Mine is,so don’t let the long, hot summer beat down your vehicle's radiator. Deposit buildup can block the cooling system and result in motor overheating that leaves you dead on the highway. And we all know that nobody wants that.If you know the way to flush your radiator, you can save time, money and keep on the road to summer sun. I found this here: How to flush your radiator.

To be sure, you must consult your manual.
