Need some help...

I have a 09 ds 450, currently it will run good then die, then trying to restart teh noid just clicks, but my fan will run full power and full pump will prime. I placed the battery on the charger over night and it ran great untill i died agin, placing a voltage gauge on the battery it reads going down and down until the the quad dies... Any ideas?

Relays?

Thanks,

Cameron

After being charged it will start and run for 10-15 min great then it will die, it is only like 70 out and not hot. Once it dies it goes flat on its face. I try to restart and the noid just click and the relays buzz I can put it on the charger it will start right up and it will start and run again for 10 min and die again.

I have the race reflash so no limp mode...

I'm thinking possible ground? Not completing recharging cycle?

Where are the ground locations?

What is the output of the regulator rectifier, at 4000 rpms or so ?
Volts will do if you post the voltage prior to starting the engine .
WE have lost 2 rectifiers , a stator or 2 and i do not remember how many batteries .
if the voltage is the same or less , you must ck the output of the stator at the 3 pin yellow wire plug , should be around 50 - 55 volts AC at 3000-4000 rpms
if you have 55 vo;ts AC on all 3 legs and low output , you have a bad rectifier /regulator . REmember your meter Must be on AC VOLTS to measure the voltage on the yellow wires . DC volts at the battery

okay i will check when i get home, any other simple things that could be causing this? it ran fine before the frame change out now it wont...

When it dies and the fan comes on the fan seems to have full power, and when i but the charger on for a sec itll fire right up and run teh same cycle.

At the lat race I was at, I ran my quad for like 15 min pretty hard, and the clutch was slipping. The quad got pretty hot, but I didn't notice. I shut it off to help drop a gate for one of my friends to do a start and it wouldn't start. 15-20 min later once it cooled down it fired right up. I'm thinking these quads don't like getting too hot haha

yeah they do get hot, i race many xc races for two hours full out packed with mudd and not a problem. I am just wondering how it could be fine before the frame change and be messed up now.

How does a bad relay act? Sound?

The quad will start then shut off then the relays buzz and then I must cycle it on off till it stops...

Any ideas?

Update!!!

Problem got worse

The quad will now just start and idle sound fine no engine light, once the throttle is depressed it throws the check engine light and the idle chartacteristic changes and then dies.

Let the quad sit starts up normal does the same process.

Someone please.
