Thanks for all the help. Also I have just found out that the dealer who repaired the engine has skimmed the cylinder head, is this advisable on the engine on the 450?

The head was probably warped a little bit (due to extreme heat), so the machine the gasket surface flat again for a good seal. If they only took a little bit of material off (0.005" - 0.010") it will raise your compression a little...but not enought to really affect anything.

If it was me I wouldn't use the same cylinder head. I'd ebay one with a stock piston and do that. There's no telling what kind of damage could of been done to the cylinder.

always posting wrong info? i believe this is the second time lol but as long as there are GENIUSES like you around all the wrongs in the world will be alright lol

i believe i posted "temp guage" not "sensor"
thermostat (ˈθɜːməˌstæt) n 1. a device that maintains a system at a constant temperature. It often consists of a bimetallic strip that bends as it expands and contracts with temperature, thus breaking and making contact with an electrical power supply 2. a similar device that actuates equipment, such as a sprinkler, when a certain temperature is reached

sounds like it guages/reads temperatures to me lol but hell im not an english major

so....thermostat, not temp guage...excuuuuuuuuuuse me
