Should I hold off installing pipe, EFI until full break in?

I received my pipe today along with the EFI module. I just hit 5 hours and will be changing oil for the first time this week. Should I hold off until the full 10 hour break in until I install the parts? I planned on just installing the slip on, EFI, cutting the wire (still need to figure this one out) and taking off the airbox lid. The local dealer said they will still warranty the quad with the mods, but didn't know if I should go thru the entire break in.

You should be all set with putting the stuff on. Is the efi module the one from can-ams racer support program? If so, you need to have your dealer flash the new one, and they need your stock one back.

The EFI is the Motoworks one that is meant for the pipe and airbox lid off. Does that need to be flashed by the dealer?

I will install the EFI since I already bought it. The guy at the dealership said to do both? Anyway, about how long will it take to hook up the EFI since it will be the first time taking the plastics off, etc? The directions seem to quite extensive taking off the plastics and other parts. Just want to know about how long I should plan before starting the project.

5-10 minutes. its actually really easy. you just plug in the fmi wires directly into the ecu, and take the old ecu wires and plug it into the relay that comes with the fmi. once you see it all layed out its really simple.

but in regards to the dealer saying cut both thats stupid. cutting the pink wire has the same effect as a fmi. if you cut the wire AND install the fmi, the fmi will throw wrong codes and programs to the ecu and youll get poor performance. you have to do one or the other, if your going to tune your motor, the fmi is needed as you can change your fuuel map to your liking. cutting the pink wire puts the stock fuel map into a fallback map more performance oriented.

Thanks. I got the oil changed (pain with the X model since the oil drains onto the skid plate) and will get the exhaust and EFI installed this weekend.

Hcomras-what is the trick to taking off the plastics and installing the Motoworks EFI? You had said it is a quick job. I had read an earlier post about cutting the pink wire and you had issues figuring out the plastics as well. Did you follow the EFI instructions? If I take off what they say in the directions it seems like a solid 1 hr job. I hope it goes a bit quicker, but I haver never taken this thing apart yet. Any info is appreciated.
