The great Lithium Ion experiment begins.

I've isolated my fuel pump relay problems to voltage dropping in the charging systems due to a bad battery. I intend to switch to a race harness this winter, but in the meantime, I'm thinking of switching to an 8aH equivalent LI battery. Reportedly, they are lighter, smaller and provide quicker on-demand discharge than a lead-acid battery. (IE: perfect for XC racers and dead-engine starts)The 8-cell battery I've ordered has a footprint about the size of a cell phone and will weigh less than 20 oz. I'm gonna make a stainless battery tray to fit the LI battery and hold my FMI as well to fitin the stock battery tray... I'll keep you guys posted.

BTW.. The battery retails for about the same as a regular Yuasa lead acid. So, why not?

The 4 and 6 cell ones are lighter. Technically, the 8-cell is a bit of overkill.

HCOMRAS: They are all SFI Approved/Numbered, too, so that's a great price for that high a quality battery.
