and i love the super tricked out sparky! external! the sound is amazing. its sooooo deep now, reminds me of a v-twin kinda. lol. the whole kit ran just over a grand. pretty good deal i think

easy. ron said that he just did a ds450 for dirt wheels mag that put 52 to the ground with a piston and his cam with no head work. he said with head work, a higher comp piston, an intake kit that he's working on, hes hoping for a reliable 60hp motor with around 58 to the ground.
the exhaust cam seems god i guess, its hard to tell because i know the exhaust and dyno tune is making a majority of the difference that i am noticing, im assuming that the cam is responsible for the impressive low end gain.

cool i think i might run this setup especially since its all bolt on parts so i wouldnt have to ship the motor out only thing is the dyno tune there isnt very many dyno's to tune on in southern indiana so would proubly have to tune it seat of the pants

he recommended a lot of shit to me haha but i went there with a tight budget and he had a pretty good match for what i needed. he wanted me to get a different cam altogether but this was a cheap stop-gap until i do head work next summer

When you increase the duration or lift of a valve opening you lose idle quality and emissions quality in exchange for performance. the exhaust cam and intake cam are almost the same, while the exhaust cam has softer edges producing longer "duration" and therefore bumping performance a little. its not that aggressive, so i dont really need stiffer valve springs, but i do lose mpg with a slight gain in bottom end torque and throttle response. if i/you went with a web cam or ron woods race cam, stiffer springs would be needed. but honestly, for the sacrifice that ive seen in gas consumption vs power increase, i dont think it was really needed. im sure with a proper tune, exhaust, and filter, that would be MORE than enough for competitve riding, afterall, i dont think any of the BRP race teams even do cam work or head work.
now im no mechanic or expert, so if theres anything thats wrong please correct me im still learning as well!
