MAF sensor relocation?
I've talked to a few people already, but want more opinions...
The second intake we have designed is elimintaing the air box completely...
Where should the new location for the MAF sensor be? How important is this sensor? Should we hide it inside a frame rail? Drill it into the intake tube? Remove it completely?
The new design will have a 5" mouth, and will utilize a K&N filter that is 7" wide and just over 9" long. Talk about airflow!

If it is like a car maf it is very important. All of the maf's are in the intake tube to measure air and air flow and air temp to adjust fuel and air mixture. where is the maf in stock form? moving it to a diffrent location might change the way it performs. you might have to recalibrate it in the new location also. if you can leave it around the same area.

This sensor is extremely important. I wouldn't change the location by much either.

stock location is inside the airbox. its the small green bosch bit that pokes inside the box on the right side of the box.

I know on diesel trucks if your maf is jacked up moved or anything it causes serious problems with performance. I would try to keep it located in the same spot.

yea this is what i was thinking....curious tho as to how and where it should go. i dont want to splice into the wiring harness and extend it to somewhere else that is safe, but the only place to put it is on the frame rail where it is exposed....

I dont think that is the maf sensor. maf is mass air flow sensor.
