2008 clutch help
I'm sorry if this topic is worn out, I have my dsx for only 3 months, very low hours, and clutch squeals when cold. I'm sure previous owners have'nt done the update to it. So here is the deal, first, I'm in Paraguay, I can not send my clutch to BCS for the upgrade. Second, everything I buy from US costs me about 20%moreto get it here. So, what's my best option, price wise, so I don't have to say a prayer for my clutch every time I ride? I do mild racing.... Thanks guys

You can go to your dealer and try to get them to put an upgraded clutch cover on it wit the oil hole in it. US cost was $260 when I asked for it, therefore I went through BCS.

The oil hole helps lubricate the clutch plates. That would be the first thing I would try and get. If dealer won't get the clutch cover under warranty, I would contact BCS and let them know your problem. Maybe thay can help you out with the oil hole. The next thing I would do, since racing is on the table. I would upgrade hub to a billet one. Bcs is a very good option. After that other will chime in.

Yea, unfortunately there is no Canam dealer here..... I've contacted BCS about my problem and they just gave me prices for new parts.. I think I'll order a new cover, the one on the upgrade, start with that and later order a new thing each month.....

Did you explain you situation to them. If you had a metl shop near they could probaly drill it out for you. I forgot to measure the hole when it came back from BCS. darn.

I own a metal shop, I've stated my problem to them but they just told me to send them the cover, if I can get vague instructions or description in where and size I can drill it my self. I am currently building a rotor guard of my own, I'll post pictures of it when I'm done....

It looked like a very small hydraulic orfice. Letter bits. In the update page I posted earlier if you can blow it up on the computer you can see the location. Maybe if you call Can Am Canada direct they can help with the size?????? It wouldn't be that hard to do. It's just getting the orfice size.
This was my exprience with it though. Maybe pm canamracerdad and he can help you out with the hole size.
Took her in for warranty

My dealer had the updated clutch cover with the hole and they were glad to let me measure where the hole was etc. I used a dremel and their tiny drill set to make the hole in my 08 cover. Only cost me the 14 bucks for the replacement gasket. Works great.

Do you still have the measurement and location? I don't have a dealer nearby...

Hey guys, just got in from a great ride today, sadly a bad ending. Looks like my clutch blew.... I was coming out of a curve and I just lost gears. Engine runs but there is no transmission to the wheels. When I clutch I can hear a different clunk in the clutch, but nothing happens. I'll take it apart tomorrow and see what happened.....
