Exclamation Problem!

Alright guys so last year i stripped the threds on my engine oil drain bolt.. So i put in a heli coil and ever since than its given me a problem with leaking. started using some gasket type material around the new screw that goes into the heli coil and that stopped the leaking. Now i did an oil change yesterday and it was leaking a little bit out of the heli coil again so i leaned my quad on the grab bar and took the screw out and put some gasket material around it. when i went to put it back in the heli coil was gone!! The screw had nothing to screw into. I dont know if it fell into my engine or what but now i cant put my drain bolt in and i think theres a heli coil in my engine. WHAT DO I DO?? I honestly have no clue how to go about this, im not worrying about the threads on the engine for the bolt im worrying about this heli coil floating around in my engine! Im not 100% posative that its in there but im like 75% positive it is. How should i go about this? i was gonna take my engine out any way to get the frame powder coated but what should i to to see if its in there and make sure it doesnt do any damage? Any help is greaty appreciated!

thanks, Nick

If it's in the engine, your screwed. You have to tear down the engine to get it out. Most heli coils are made of stainless. So magnets won't work. Sorry, but for a positive spin upgrades anyone?

lazy way would be drill out hole to beable to put something inside the engine to get the heli-coil out(I'm guessing some kind of wire. Retap and reheli-coil and maybe use a shopvac to try and get all little shaving out. If you're still worried about the shaving use a cheap car oil to run through the engine for a couple minutes to flush any small particles out. Then put in synthetic oil and run the crap out of it. If you take your time with drilling the case out you shouldn't have many shaving in the engine(also try to drill with the quad on the ground(not on its side or on its grab bar) to have gravity work with you.

Anyone have any ideas on how i should go about this? other wise im gonna invest in a shop manual and just tear the engine down until i get the piece out.
