Question wiring harness DS450

Hi,

I own a Ds450 Xmx 2009 that was modified by the previous owner and I found something strange in the wiring harness this weekend. At the front near the relays, I found two wire twisted together and taped. One is black and is ground and the other one is brown/light blue and has 12V when ignition is On or when the engine is running.

I looked in the can am shop manual I have but I didn't find these wires... I suppose that these we connected to something at first but I don't know what and I would like to know why they are connected together...

By the way I tested and the atv runs ok at idle if they are connected together or not. They are not the wires for the kill switch.

Anybody has an idea?

thanks,

Pascal

I don't have lights but I still have a key. As you can see the wires are coming out of the big harness just right of the three little harnesses going to each relay.

are the two wire from your clutch lever still wire up? Could be the safety wires from the clutch? So it won't start if the clutch isn't pulled in when in gear.

Yes I have an aftermarket clutch lever so if you tell me that these are for the clutch switch it might be possible. I cannot check until next weekend on the bike itself though

If somebody would be able to check on his bike that these wires are linked to the clutch switchI would appreciate!!

thanks guys,

The clutch and front brake wire should just Unplug/Unclip from the harness. That's how mine was

Edit [after waking up]...Missed the last sentence that said it was NOT the kill switch as he crossed the wires...Sorry...

[Original Sleepy response]
How about the "pre-wired for kill-switch" that started in 2009? Location seems about right...Let's see if anyone goes out and takes a picture...it's cold out here!

No it's not the prewired kill switch connector.
