Piston help!

Ok im really confused right now. I want to get a new piston for my 08 ds450x. I thought i could just buy a new piston drop it in the motor and call it a day but people are saying i have to get stuff done to my head and what not. is this true? If i order the 13:1 CP piston through BCS can i just drop it in and call it a day? Please help. If i cant just drop in the 13:1 can i do it with the 12:5:1? any help is greatly appreciated!

Add far as I know you can just drop it in, but head work will make that piston worth the time and money...

Well you didnt give them a size? If so you my want to check clearences. Also look at your niksile lining make sure you dont need a replating.

you can run a high-comp piston without doing any headwork. And you can go up to a 13:1 and still run pump fuel, 91/93 octane.

we measure the inside bore of the cylinder before i order cylinder kits at my shop. But if the cylinder is nikasil plated then you may want to atleast inspect the wear on the cylinder walls.

i don't mean to throw a wrench in this, but I thought I remembered reading something about 2 different cylinder sizes in the 2008s????

I vaguely remember it being mentioned by engine number as to what size to order...
Am i up in the night?

Kman talks about it in the post below....

New piston?

read through it to make sure you don't have an early production model that is .2mm different!
