K&N Air Filter Adapter

Thinking about putting a K&N on my 08 ds.. wondering if i need a adapter or if it fits stock air box.... only been able to find one place that sells an adapter... buddy of mine tells me the adapter is the right way to do it.... any help??

you can buy a replacement K&N and it fits just fine....but a few others, including myself, bought oversized filters and either made or bought an adapter, kinda like the velocity stack filter....

yea its pretty much the same thing. i didnt buy it tho just made it out of pvc so it would fit the wider filter.
