I have two of the 08's converted to mx and if you really want to improve the bike right away there are two critical things I would do (and have done to mine) and one nice thing I would do. First, replace the clutch basket with a Hinson or BCS basket right now. The one you have will fail, it is just a question of when and how much internal damage it will do when it does fail. Trust me as I can relate to this first hand. Second, if you have the money to replace shocks, go after the rear one first. It is very hard to tame and almost impossible to set the ride height. I replaced our race bike's rear shock with a Fox Podium and have been very happy with the results. And finally, get a Precision stabilizer. Those things make the bike a hoot to ride, especially in the dunes and on the mx track. Just my .02 cents worth. Hopefully this is helpful.
