Fuel boiling?

Went riding yesterday for about an hour and the gas cap breather hose was spitting fuel like mad. I slowly opened the cap and had a great deal of pressure I had to bleed off before I could even take it off. When I did have it off I looked into the tank and the fuel was bubbling like it was boiling. What are you guys doing for this?

This has been happening (from what I've read, not experience) to the racers. The best thing to do is to search this site for "how to's" on drilling holes in your plastic to let air get to the gas tank, wrapping your header w/heat tape, wrapping the gas tank w/heat tape, drilling holes in other parts of the plastic to ventilate, running water wetter or another coolant mixture(engine ice). There are other expensive alternatives, installing blower fans on the radiator, new radiator cap, new radiator altogether....

Just search around, you'll find all the answers and how to do them! It's been happening to others so you're not alone!

It happened to my quad during the summer last year, so I've cut holes on the plastic near the gas tank. Since summer is around the corner I'm getting heat tape put on the gas tank also.

thought id chime in with a pic for ya on what everyone else has said.
1st u need a 1" hole saw for plastic/wood. theyre like $7. Take ur plastics and make a honeycomb pattern on them under the finder like shown in the picture. Than go to a hardware store and buy heat reflective tape. Aluminum tape. Its gonna generally be cheaper at the hardware store than a automotive place. Just Cover the back of your tank. (right above the header pipe) do both of those things and u wont have to worry about it anymore.

We run this CV boot, 2 inch plastic holes and E-85 no issues.

Fuel is seeing about 51 psi, engine heat on black plastic is the cause.
