First ride on the new DS... very bad.. read on

so... I got off work and heaed home, loaded up and headed to the local ridin spot... long story short... heard a horrible grinding noise from the mag side of the engine... shut it off right away and pushd it to the trailer, loaded and headed home... tore it apart... Hmmmm not good... magneto is toast... flywheel is most likely toast... problem is... there are 5 bolt that hold the hub (im assuming) well 4 were sheared off and 1 was totally missing... not happy but $h!t happens... hopefully it isnt too spendy to fix. but from the 5 mins i got ro ride it... seems lackin on low end power... smaller tires in the rear will fix that and some sproket experiments... other than that... gonna have to stick with the pride and joy LTR although the wife is not thrilled she cant ride lol.. RIDE ON!!

Pretty sure im not stupid and know the difference between the PTO and MAG side of the engine.. but yea i may have worded it retarded.. Stator is toast for sure and the flywheel may need to be replaced... but there is an inner hub on that fly wheel cuz when i spun the engine past TDC none of the holes lined up, which is fine cuz it isnt a big deal... gonna go pick up some easy outs and see if i can pull the sheared bolts ..

did you get the update/recall done to the flywheel bolts? I know this was a big problem and you should've gotten this fixed by the dealer! I did before I bought mine...

let us know if you had it updated/recalled...that could explain it!

As stated above, there was a recall on the flywheel bolts (and the rear motor mount). I don't know if your bike is new or used, but if it's new it looks like your dealer has some repairs to do at his expense. Good luck!

yea I highly doubt the dealer will pick up the repairs sense BRP states the updates are at owners expense
