problems with an o8x
guys i recently picked up an 08x i took it out put 4-5 hours no problems at all then took it to the dealer to get the flywheel bolt upgrade and some of the other recalls/updates done.. i dropped it of on Thursday in the A.M. and picked it up that afternoon i took it out riding today and around half way through the ride i started having shifting problems 3,4,5 are fine but if im in 4th and i stop it wont let me down shift to 1st i have put it in 3rd ride the shit out of the clutch to get the bike to roll and drop down to 2nd or 1st.. if i take off in first when i up shift it gets stuck in neutral and then i have to slam it up again to get it in 2nd.... i havent been babying the bike but i havent been ridding it too too hard im guessing from what ive read online its the shift forks... does it sound like the shift forks? also what changed from the 08 to 09 tranny and what are all the tranny issues on the 08's? all ive been able to find through seaching the forum is the 08 shift forks and 3rd gear........ sorry for the dumb question but this is my first bike.

The quad has to have some motion to shift. Try rocking the quad back and forth when you are downshifting it. That might work.

maybe they didn't get the new shift pawls back in right? I would take it back.

Definitely take it back, they screwed something up. Sounds like it could be the pawls or something just not lined up right.
