Octane recomended 91 at least, so 93 would good if you can find it. At 11.8 to 1 stock compression ratio 100 is the highest I would go.

I use 110 in my stock practice bike, seems to be a bit snappier, and appears to run cooler, and cleaner. We saw a .1 hp improvement on the dyno ... so it may not be worth it to you ....
we averaged about 6-10 hours on our stock suzuki ltr engines ..... we have over 180 hours on our practice bike w/ 110 octane running in it .
When we are going pleasure riding ... we mix it 50/50 w/ 93 and it runs almost the same . suggest you do the same. I think that you will like the boost in power, and reliability..... also ... NO CARBON BUILDUP on the piston/ valvetrain!

you use aviation gas no?(avgas 100/130 can be?). because the aviation gas itīs in range 100 to 130 octanes
and itīs true that more octane is more power?
if i ride with 130 octanes can i blow the motor?
thanks

More octane doesn't mean more power, you can raise the compression & make more power. Race fuel is generally a higher quality fuel, like mentioned it should run cooler also. A higher octane should have a slower burn so with higher comrpression & advance timing you could feel a better pulling motor. av gas is rated different. Its the Mon vs RON COMBO rating you see at the pump, so 100 av gas = more like 96 octane pump/race gas. I thought that 110/130 was rather rare to find?
I have seen motors running on leaded race gas too rich an piston etc coated with a layer of buildup. So any fuel not ran at the correct ratio / setup isn't good. IMO

Don't run av fuel without the proper piston. You will melt a stocker as it runs very dry which equals very hot.

My local performance shop sells 110 sunoco blue for $8.50 per Gallon
I support my local vendor ... you can order whatever you want in blue 5 gallon cans and mix it w/ 5 gallons of 93 ... you get @ 100 octane
Cleaner and cooler burn .
Av gas is LL which stands for Low Lead content, the lead will not hurt these motors at all and it is cheaper , but the airports in florida will not sell you fuel w/o having a plane present ... I have had the argument that I fly an ultra light and lost.
I am also a student pilot w/ over 40 hours in my log book, so I am familliar with the FBO and it's procedures.

Ok I'll refrase. If you run av fuel...you will get no more or less power sense the low lead content makes it burn hotter because of then reduced lubrication lead provides the engine. if you run race gas...your engine will run cooler Maybe MAYBE 1 extra hp....not worth it. Basically if you have stock internals you can run any fuel you want...but they won't help you at all. Gaurenteed.
