Pre-Wired for Killswitch....

As many of you are aware, the 2010/2011 MX and XC units are pre-wired for a killswitch. This past week I installed a Pro-Armor kill switch on my unit and discovered that it is in fact pre-wired for a killswitch. It even has a nice weatherproof connector there for you. The caveat is that if you don't have the proper male pin connectors to put on the ends of your killswitch wires, you cannot use this nice weather-proof connector.

This leaves us with two options:

1) Cut off the existing plug and wire it using crimp connections
2) Purchase the pins and utilize the fancy weatherproof connector

I cut the existing plug off and wired it myself. After a little digging around though, I found the part numbers for the male pins. The connectors are made by Delphi and are their "Weather-Pack" style of plug. I have ordered the necessary parts and plan to re-install the weatherproof connector.

For your reference though, this is the part number that you would need for utilizing the factory weatherproof connector:

Manufacturer: Delphi
QTY -2 : Pin Part# 12124587 Weather-Pack Male Terminal (Pin)

Additionally, here are the other part numbers for the pieces associated with this connection.

QTY - 1 : Part# 12010973 2 Cavity Weather Pack Male Connector
QTY - 1 : Part# 12015792 2 Cavity Weather Pack Female Connector
QTY - 2 : Part# 12124580 Weather Pack Female Terminal (Sleeve)
QTY - 4 : Part# 15324981 Weather Pack Cable Seal - Blue

I have ordered some extra male pins, so if anyone is interested, let me know and I can mail you a couple.

Thanks.

You probably could have saved some money by buying heat shrinkable butt splices. Just get a good crimp on them then use a bic lighter or a hand torch to shrink them with so they're weatherproof. We use them at work all the time really nice.

Unless you'd rather have the connector to dis-connect it in the future or w/e which isn't a bad idea either..

What ever happened to soldering and shrink wrapping a connection? Is it just the aircraft mechanic in me?

Got to local AG Equipment Dealer ( ie. John Deere, Case, Ford New Holand, Cat) Or Ford, Chevy, Dodge dealer and save freight. Take pict's of connector or use the p/n that Warrior posted and they probally have them.

Where is this mounted i didn't see anything and crimped mine with a automotive splice that didn't require stripping the wire, you just crimp down on it and i was good to go.
