help. race tomorrow. problem day before again.
Ok i put new hinson basket it and springs and shift pawls. That works great. Well I refilled all fluids oil and coolant. I used all engine ice for coolant, now the radiator is steaming. Never did it before. It runs for a few minutes starts slow then gets worse. What could of gone wrong. I haven't ridden this besides down the street so no crash or damage. Always the day before a race. Please help.

Do you have the thermostat removed ?
There was a vent line that went to the res. that is also the burp hose, which "burps the air out of the cooling system , if air is trapped the , coolant does not circulate properly . Ck that the coolant is circulating , ck that coolant is going through the thermostat, or remove it ( i suggest removal)
if you did res removal , run engine w/ cap off until t/stat opens and Burps ... then refill and install cap , once it overheats it will lose enough coolant to do damage the next run ...... that is why we run stock res.
Good luck

Ok so i was told maybe I spilled some and it was burning off. So i let it idle now all the hoses are smoking then from the burp line air, smoke, and coolant shot out. Then tons of smoke tons of it.

This ^^^and use a temp gun and see what the temp drop is from top hose to bottom hose.

Maybe a meat thermometer and lay on top and bottom hoses. Let's see if this thing is actually getting hot or at running temp.
