Hood Vent Hole Block Off?

What has anyone done to block off the vent hole on the hood of these things? I noticed that's what a lot of XC guys are doing and was going to try and replicate myself, with a piece of thin aluminum. When I had the plastic off the other day, it appeared that there were two small screws on the underside, in that vicinity, that I could use to secure, along with some silicone to seal the area off, on the underside.

I suppose a few exposed pop rivets wouldn't look too amateur would they???

Air flow is very important on these bikes , but if you wanted to do this i would use mesh
