Installing a tether switch
to install a tether switch first you need to take off the front plastics. after you do that find the wires that go to the key(pic 1) there should be 5 wires. in the american version at least. (pic 2) starting from the left (black w/red stripe, white, orange, black w/white stripe, black.
These are the connectors I used. prevents you from having to cut the wires. (pic3) Now stripe a portion of the 2 wires furthest right see (pic 2 again) Take the 2 wires from your tether strip the ends. (pic 5) now use the connectors to connect the 2 wires from the tether switch to the 2 wires on the key. (pic 6) This is trial and error. hook it up start it and pull the tether out. If it doesn't kill the quad than switch the wires.
After you have it connected right. Put your tether on your handlebars where ever you want. Remember to zip tie the wires down so they arent cought and pulled out on a branch or anything. any questions just ask
(mods make this a sticky)

great info
but
PLEASE..... do not use SCOTCH LOCKS, I suggest that you solder and heat shrink the connections.
Scotch locks are not acceptable for off road connections, they were designed to speed up car stereo installation inside the cab(clean and dry)
they will work for awhile, but they will give you a problem when used in off road conditions

^^^very good point.^^^ for all my step by step stuff I post I only use the bare basic tools so that ANYONE can do it ya know. Solder and heat shrink are way better. not trying to disagree with u racerdad but iv run these connectors sense i put it on. last fall. alot of hours and races and no failures. So if you can soder and heat shrink if not these connectors worked for me. prob wrap them in tape to.

sauter and heat shrink is a great idea, thats what i did to the pink wire. just a safe guard, i guess if the nuts fail down the road you can just cut em and sauter em then

obviously you have done this, why tell us to trial and error when you could have just told us what two wires you used?
