Wow I got super lucky

Well its been too hot around here to ride lately so I figured I'd take some time to put my 13 tooth front sprocket on. Been avoiding it cause I've heard of people braking the circlip that holds the sprocket on. Anyway figured I'd give it a go and after removing the cover the sprocket literally feel into my hands. Circlip already broke off, needless to say I just ordered a bcs front sprocket retainer and case saver. Just wanted to say thanks to the people who brought this problem up... saved my case!

There was no circlip, I don't know when and where it broke off but it did. I hate to think about how many times I rode it and there was nothing but luck keeping it on. I don't know for 15 bucks I think I would buy the bcs retaining clip for peace of mind.

The manual said to use a new one. The word "new" is in bold but there is no caution note about it. The Can Am 13 tooth sprocket kit came with a new clip.

Don't hardware stores have these "C" or "E" clips? They come in tons of sizes.
