H4 conversion....WORTH IT

so i finally got my quad converted to H4 lights so no more stupid hunting for replacement bulbs and i can actually upgrade the bulb finally lol not like our stock HS1 bulbs
got the sylvania silverstar ultra H4, cut off the back of the stock housing, H4 bulbs fit PERFECT now, got a $2 H4 wiring harness, cut off the stock harness, spliced in my new one, and boom! better lighting, and now later down the road i can get H4 HIDs and not have to do any more modding when i get there.

only concern is the 55watt bulb is awefully hot, and might eventually melt the lens, and i dont know how much more of a draw the 55 watt will do over the 35 watt, so any input is appreciated!

pics on request
will test tonight when its darker and test it during a ride next weekend for our pismo rides!

sounds like something i would like to do to my quad!!! the 35 watt bulb will draw about 3 amps each and the 55 watt will draw about 4.6 amps each. are you able to get your headlamps to ajust where you like them, seems like factory lights are a little hard to ajust mine are off to right and down, how are yours? have you ajusted them? up and down ok but side to side no ajustment!

so when you cut off the rear housing do they just turn in or what holds them in?
where did you get wire harness for bulbs?

i just used silicone to secure them in but if you cut off the back where the housing protrudes out, the H4 light literally "pops" in the housing and is semi-secure. i still have the same adjustment as stock (up n down) but played with the bulb a little to get it centered and added washers to the bolts that hold the light to the bike to get it where i wanted it. the harness is at autozone or kragen or any auto parts store labeled as a 3 terminal wiring kit. theyre $2 each.

EDIT****
silicone is a bad choice lol...ill let you know when i get a better way to secure em lol...silicone just melts haha

are you saying you can use washers under the mounting screws to get left to right ajustment!
