one in the oil tank, one in the case under the bottom,
3 bolts in the iol filter housing on the left side
Can Am says to replace the copper washers every time , we replace ours when it appears damaged. do not overtighten
do not forget to remove and clean the oil strainer on the left side of the oil tank
capacity 1.9 quarts empty .... do not forget to run engine to temperature and re-check right after running
We have found that if you run it at the full line or a little over , it can cause the engine to smoke slightly , we put in 1.6 quarts and run it to check it , we like it at or slightly above the low line prior to a race.

Do you have a owners manual? you might want to get that or a service manual. pics really can be helpful
The strainer on the line to the oil tank its a little screen.
run the motor for a least a few minuts after adding oil an then check it.

I also found this with the oil, If you run full on the mark the engine seems to be smokey. Also be careful filling it, like he said warm it up leave it for a minute then check it cause you might be filling it thinking you dont have enough in and before you know it, it will have far too much in it.
edit: just out of interest canamracerdad what oil do you run in your bikes? cause last couple of times I have just used the BRP own 5-40 (i think?) synthetic.

The strainer is in the left side of the oil tank, it must be removed cleaned and reinstalled
at each oil change ... if you see chunks , do not run it ... find out why
