08 Ds 450X General questions

Hey, new to this site, new to quads in general. Have a few questions and any help would be greatly appreciated. Im looking to buy an 08 450X, looks to be in great condition, saler says less than 20 hours, is 3800.00 a fair price. Also, quad was bought new in 2010, he is unaware if the recalls were fixed. If bought new would they have been and if not is their a dealer deadline. Also he added a full AC exhaust and k&n filter. He did not cut the pink wire, would I be doing more harm to bike if I didn't, what are pros and cons. Is this a good all around quad, or should I avoid buying. Any and all responses would be appreciated.

That was not the help I had in mind. I've been all over this site, yet to find anything on recall deadlines, or if recalls were fixed if quad was sold in 2010. Also I've only found how cutting the pink improves performance, have found no links if it hurts,. To those who do get laid and have some positive feedback id appreciate it.

Call some dealers around you first, there are some good chances you can find a new one that is a leftover 08 that you get for around the same price with the racer package discount, as for recalls just have a dealer run the vin and that should show what has been updated, I dont believe there is any deadlines on the recalls. If you do end up buying it def cut the pink wire it will just help the quad run better with the mods that it has, if you didnt cut it there is a chance that it could be running a little lean.

im trying to help you out. i can assure you that i will be the first to help you out on this site. also, i will be the first to flame you if you dont do your homework. others will follow. we frequent this site daily and see the same threads started over and over, yet we have taken the time out of the day to make helpful stickies and linked threads for lazy people (i.e. YOU)

Yes 3800 is to much and the AC exhaust is the cheapest out there

$3800 used may be alot in the U.S., but you wont find one that cheap in Canada...

I don't know if it was in really good condition then its not too out of line. With almost all of the 08's sold your not going to find deals like there were a year ago on new one's. I'd be more concerned about him not cutting the pink wire and putting an exhaust on. I'd start it ride it and then check the oil. If they didn't ride it hard the motor might be alright.
