Need a new basket too, has a groove that breaks plates that can break the basket and ruin your engine. BCS has a good basket.

your motor # is on the back of the motor w/a barcode, correct?

Also, where is the part # on the new clutch cover to verify if it was done or not? Just curious if my dealer blew smoke or not!

Look at the 2009-9 pg 1 Rider posted and #1 arrowheads pointing to the the oil fog hole that was added to get more oil to the plates if you don't see this hole on your cover thats your verification you dont have the updated cover, this oil hole is extremely important... BCS can drill this hole you can too if you don't have it. I just had my son verify this hole when we failed an 09 basket so understand your concern.....still shocked 2009-9 did not fix the whole prob I really had faith in the new design but this basket is not up to MX XC par as advertised!....lost $350 in purse money that night and the Can looked bad.. 25 hours 09 TNT 2009-9 basket failed and it failed in a race 1st lap out front of the pro-ax class CCP OK City whoops which if it had failed off a 80 foot tripple lip dangerous!....we went from 1/4 lever play well maintained w/Motoplex synthertic oil @ 35 ft-lbs tq to catestrophic failer and engine damage in 1 sec flat!.....There is no establised tq value and/or maintenence life cycle interval for even rec riders this basket has a groove that causes failure period!...2009-9 failed to address ALL the issues we can not say the DS450 clutch is fixed it still has unresolved issues the public needs to be aware of....s/b a saftey recall spread the word be safe.

Anyway we THINK we got all the metal out of the motor it sucks cause we just split the cases to clean the sump filter of shaving to get more out of out bottom end then this, we run again it two weeks outdoor TQRA pro too cold to see if it runs ok but it started so we think we are ok but not totally sure yet.

PS: We just broke the oil squirter that caused $500 in crank gear damage you guys got your top end off epoxy this in it can cause this type of damage too.

I heard the motor # is on the case bottom right I never seen it I can ask my son if you can't find it look first.

ps. We'll be in AL end of March AMA, then KY, VA, IL, etc watch the CAN A 101 results online....

Ok...so is there any way to see from the outside of the black clutch cover if it was replaced or not? I looked and can't see a fog hole but am not sure if its just on the inside of the clutch.

I don't know where they put that part #.....Probably got to take it off I bet it's part marked inside the cover then you can see if you got the hole or not, count your plates 9 frictions, 8 steels, and look for your hub part #.
