Picking up 09 X-XC few ?'s

I will be picking up a leftover 09 X-XC on saturday. I asked the dealer to run the Vin # for updates and recalls and all that junk he said everything checked out. Anything else I should know about this unit??

Thanks for all the helpful info so far.

Have Them Give you the Motor Number, Motor Numbers after M6748166 have the clutch update. The update is not a recall so it will not show up on the vin # search. The one I got does not have it and it is not a cheap fix $175-200 Parts and then you have to install all the water pump bearings and seals in the new cove ect.

I was hoping they would do all recalls and updates to the ATV's if they were still at the dealer waiting to be sold. Unfortunately, they only do recalls before they sell them, not updates...

If you test ride the quad before you leave the dealer and it makes the noise Can Am will cover the costs to fix it, but if you have already purchased it and the clutch is the old one its not that big of a deal, its the basket that is the problem not the plates

Turns out it does have the old setup, soooo what do I do now I have not bought it yet as it is 4.5 hrs away. Can I make them install it or will I have to do it after the purchase. I am thinking I will have to do it after purchase based on what everyone has said.

I would let them know that you will purchase the bike IF and only IF it is fixed prior to you purchasing it...just my .02

I think I am going to try to get them to fix it. Thing is they could still shaft me and say they did. Is there any visual indication of the update? I could make them show me some paper work I guess.

I hate this crap

ya my buddy just bought an 08 and just before he bought it he rode it around the dealer and pointed out the clutch noise to the mechanic and they ordered the parts and let him take the bike home and replaced the clutch for free

is there an easy way of doing that? Can you just prop it up on the side and take a look? If so...how much of a prop?
