If you are buying new, you can apply for Can-Am X Team 'Sponsorship', which I understand is almost a guarantee to get approved for. U get a Motoworks Slip-On Pipe, Different ECU which kicks fan ON at lower temp & moves limp mode activation to a higher temp.

This does void any warranty however.

Much like you I am debating the purchase and have been doing a lot of research. After getting burnt on a Cannondale a few years back, I am trying to avoid the same fate once again.

Nope, haven't raced yet. Until a short time ago, did trail riding. Went out to Twister the weekend before last and had a blast. Watched some races at Royal Mountain to see the pace of things and definitely think it's doable. Heading out to Twister tonight to see the local Friday night supercross. Kind of curious to see how things go (as I don't want to head out and do my first race without a clue). I was surprised as to how slow-ish the pace was at Royal. Even a couple guys in the expert class were just cruising....
