new one

Hey guys im from portland and i love to ride the dunes and trails.I dont have a 450 for now but looking to get one so i found a used 2008 ds450x and some 2009 yfz450rs and was wonering if it is worth getting ds.Thanks

What the canam has for $3900

2008 DS450X with All of Can- AM race parts +.
This quad was bought new this year and has a very little hours on it hours on it.
This quad is incredibly fast, runs with most most built quads. With this shock and A-arm set it handles just as good as any high priced set up.
Parts include:
+2" Long Travel A-arms
20" Long travel KYB front shocks
+4" Race Axle
Long travel rear KYB shock
+1" anti-vibe steering stem
Moto Works Exhaust
Can-Am Race ECU
Frame gussets
AC pro-peg nurf bars
Bling Star front bumper
Race grill radiator guard
ITP front and back XC wheel and tire set up (rode on once)
I also have a set of Douglas MX set up (beadlocks and rock outs, maxxis tires) I would sell separately
It probably has other stuff that I am missing as well.

well....the quad doesnt sound modded at all lol...the x model comes with those arms and shocks stock, as well as the steering stem, wheel/tire combo, etc. in fact the only aftermarket thing on there it the motoworks exhaust, race ecu, and the protection stuff. anyways dont let all these "extras" sway you, cuz like i said their not really extras lol. regardless its a great quad but the price sounds a little high for a 2008 considering the clutch issues they had and its obvs used. if its a private seller id offer $3500. if they say no id walk away. whats done to the yfzr? just cause its our competition doesnt mean you wont get an honest answer here lol...the 2009 yfzr is pretty sick, and with some mods they are nice, although the ds suspension and handles are superior .

I purchased my 08 DS450X at Mt Hood Polaris new left over for something like 5600 bucks out the door 8 months ago. Since then I have thrown sand tires, a +6 swingarm, and 6 VisionX LED lights on it.

I was looking at the same situation as you are last June. I went with the new bike for a little more money then buying a used bike. The X model is a must have for the DS450.

I would get the 3900 can-am over the 5500 YZF. Both are great bikes, but the can-am you could have the swingarm, tires, and lights and have the perfect dune/trail bike for less then the YZF. Plus the Can-am will be quicker

For me it was the shocks, skid plates, nerf bars, and riser all for 550 more then the basemodel. For all that stuff after the fact it was allot more then 550! And I use the skidplates and nerf bars allot here in the woods. The shocks being more adjustable are nice as I can dial them in for the conditions at the dunes. my .02
