New to the forums, new to the DS!

Hey fella's,

Just got my new 09 X XC delivered this last week. It was a new non-current model that I snatched up and had it shipped 1300 miles cross country from the dealer to my house. It took a few weeks to receive and was actually delayed a week because of a 20+ inch snow storm we got up here but it's finally here

I was bummed because it wouldn't start right away due to a weak battery and I got scared to death when I checked the dipstick and didn't see oil on it. But I put the battery on my tender and within an hour I it had it fired and ran it just long enough to see the oil come up into the tank. I guess from sitting so long the battery got discharged a bit and most of the oil must have went back into the engine.

Now I just am waiting to break it in first and install my Motoworks G2 exhaust and do the pink wire mod. Anyway here are a few pics.

And here is the quad I sold to buy my new DS

Fun quad but I was ready to try out something else and I always wondered what it would be like to ride the DS after the X XC's & MX's came out.

Thank you, it was pretty much stock except I had the following;

Fasst co. anti vibe handlebar inserts
Pro Armor Fat Peg Nerfs
Shocks front/rear rebuilt by Noleen J6
Holeshot SR's
QuadTech seat
+1 1/2 Steering Stem
Parking brake block off

I really liked, it was my first 450 sport quad but I wanted some more power and didn't feel like dumping a grand into it for a pipe/intake/pcV. Plus I couldn't pass up on the deal I got for my new DS.

Yeah I've done the same thing with the dipstick. But once you start it and let it warm up it'll be the right amount of oil. I just bought some xxc shocks off a guy that had a 2011 and LOVE them. I can't believe how good they are. This site is awesome and has lots of information to help you on pretty much any problem you might have.

That's good to hear that I'm not the only one to ever freak out about the dipstick being pretty dry. lol....Glad to hear the XXC shocks are great because thats part of the reason I got rid of the KFX, even with aftermarket shocks (ELKA elites and later sold them to get my stocker rebuilt by Noleen) I could never get a smooth ride. I just hope that at 160-165lbs with out gear I'm not to light for the stock springs and valving.

I weigh 200# without gear and I had to set the preload all the way up cause they were so soft at at the beginning. I made my buddy who rides a trx450r jealous cause he rode mine and couldn't believe how awesome my shocks were. Just by chance did you get your xxc off of ebay? I seen an xxc on there a while ago with a buy it now for $4999 and couldn't believe it.
