Hello

Hi, first off I would like to thank everyone on this site. When I first started to look at buying a DS 450, I did a lot of reading on this forum. I learned about the recalls/service bulletins and other minor complications, it was nice to know what to look for.

On Thursday I bought a used 2008 DS 450X, with a HMF slip on, K&N air filter, and Dynojet power commander. So far all I had to do was swiss cheese the gas tank cover and put a couple tanks of gas in it. The previous owner said he never had any problems with boiling fuel, but after reading on here I decided to drill the holes anyway.

The motor on it seams to behave a lot like a Banshee, lots of power in the upper RPMs. Took a bit of time to adjust to, I also find my self changing gears more in the trails then with other quads. I've road a friends TRX before and didn't notice that.

I GPS it and it does 112KM/H 69.6MPH, I think that's in the range others are getting with similar mods.

The only other quad I've had was a 2005 DS 650X, that had mr.Hp's endcap and ported intake, K&N air filter, and rev box. It was a bulky, but bullet proof and fast (GPS at 140KMH/87 MPH). Sadly though some douche stole it in 2007.

Welcome to the site.

For now maybe look into the gearing a little for the shifting. But I would probally enjoy it before putting any money in it. These are HP addictive. LOL

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, as for the gearing. It was tedious at first, but now I actually like it. It makes riding more involved, I'm not out to site see... As for more power, I do eventually plan on doing some motor work. But for now its good enough, no sense tearing it apart yet.

Here's a couple pictures.
