quadcross - Glen Helen

July 9th and 10th, the last race of the yamaha quadx series is at glen helen raceway.

It'll be my first "national" race.

Anyone else going or has been to the glen helen track?

What would you guys recommend for gearing on that track. Right now I run 42 14. I was kinda thinking going down to a 40 14.

Also, if any of you guys have raced a quadcross race, do they have practice the day before?

They do have practice everytime before the racing begins so bring your sprockets with you. Practice will start in the morning around 8 or 9 and will be split into 4 sessions dependent on your class. I'm hoping to make it out there but had another trip come up, but I might change that.

Are you riding pro-am?

Hcomras what do you need for your quad. I'm taking both mine but I'm robbing all the goodies off wienens for my black one for this race, lol

Quadracer, thanks. Hope there's some more of you can-am riders there. I was thinking about racing pro-am not sure tho. Heck if I'm driving 11 hours, I might as well the first night and see how I do. Haha

After being misinformed about it not being a night race. When I showed up, I had 5 minutes to be on the line before the gate dropped. Haha. Holeshot I was about mid pack. Climbed my way back to 4th closing in on third and last lap, my reinforced battery box failed. And battery fell ththru my plastic. Ended up getting a 10th outa 13. Second moto comes around. Got the holeshot! Held off for a bit. Track was narly. Faded to 4th and finished 4th. 7th overall. If my battery box woulda held up, I woula finished 3rd because how the points were. Damn. Now I gotta race in the morning. Hopefully I do better!
