I believe U can but you should have the new carrier. I have been told the old ones break with a 50" axle

I wouldn't waste my time or money, we bent the 09 axle in no time. Got a DOM 11, 5 xtra pounds has a warantee but it will last longer....all this hype about light weight hollow axles, not sure I am fan if they don't last and I have seen a few 08's/09 bend.

Just in case you want to know more of the theory behind the hollow axle is the center sees little compression and/or tension..If you take bar and bend it the one side goes into compression the other gets pulled apart in tension mainly at the surface ok...cracks start on the tension side not compressed, theres more to it has you go beyond the boundry layer some have tested such as RPM, etc, that the core should see little of either, but that entirely dependant on the material #1 and design #2.....I'm sorry I have more faith in RPM who has been doing ATV axles much longer than BRP. I'm a little concerned about the added load at the carrier, and since the weight is so far from the CG I thought my boy would feel it more but does not, again we have PEP that may soak it up and move it faster in whoops better than other shocks....IMO BRP should supply RPM axles to thier assy line then they be the bomb, we'd see a lifetime warantee, more reliability and I bet if RPM has a big order they get the 5lbs out since they don't care about the DS small sales volume. Lonestar adds a lb and $100 to DOM 11 forget it! Just my .02.

Carrier - as with most designed structure there is a pad sorta speak or safety margin we leave behond the allowable loads so I think it will be ok.

Just saying.. I beat the living crap out of my stock axles. Like literally beat the crap out of them. Here in new England we don't have landings on our jumps.. we just have take offs and then flat ground. I have never bent or broke an axle. The stock axle is the strongest I have ever used because I have bent RPM and Lonestar on all the same jumps.

We have not had any issues with our adjustable 50" axles. The kid has beat the crap out of his without any problems. If you have an 08 model, I'd definitely recommend upgrading to the 4 bearing carrier.
