spring rate

i tried to adjust my spring yesterday and you cant soften them up i was wondering if anybody knew the spring rate on the stock shocks on a 08 450x and if there are any aftermarket springs that will work on the stock shocks for a softer preload

im talkin bout the springs if you lift the front end of the ground the springs r loose with the rings tightened all the way down so if you loosen them up and u jump or bring the front end off the ground the springs will be flopn in the breeze

oh yea thatll happen. doesnt really hurt anything though. U could try the preload springs from the xmx shocks. I rode on the x shocks for 1yr with no prob with the collar rings all the way up

So it doesn't hurt anything to have the springs flop in the wind? I was a little worried about that so I threaded down the collar until it at least met the spring. Could use a little lower ride though...

new springs would be the best so you can utilize the maximum dampening available for a smoother landing....but like I said I ran mine like that jumping 75'+ jumps sense i bought it. and they still work good
