loose front wheel bearings

hello all,
we have had a problem w/ our front wheel bearings getting loose (over 1/8" at the tire). we bought new wheel bearings from "ALL BALLS " racing .
installed them and it got better . two races later, the RF had over 1/8" of play in the bearing. I took it all apart and everything was correctly installed and in place. after several failed attempts at re- tighteniing( and making sure I had the concave washer the correct way) { that is a rookie mistake }

After a redneck evaluation .... we ground about .020 (20 thousanths) off of the flat part of the washer to tighten the bearings up ... it worked .

Anybody else have this sort of problem?

Do you run the dust covers? I found that after about 3 seconds on the track without them the wheel bearings go to crap.

Yes Blaster, we use dust covers.
I have original bearings on the practice bike, but I've had to replace a set on the race bike.
It only has 5 hours on it too. So I have no clue how it works lol.
But there is no way I could ever finish races without my dads redneck sidecoming out!
