I think your idea of a diet is perfect for me. Im 217ibs. now and my doctor said I should be around 160lbs. LOL..yeah right. Ill shoot for 185lbs...which seems reasonable to me. That would mean I could shave 32 lbs from the ride, lower the center of gravity a little bit(no gut ,more glory), and get healthier at the same time. I read somewhere that 7lbs is equivalent to one horse power. Thats almost a 5HP gain. Can anyone else confirm this?...but either way its a win, win situation for me.
