which FOX shocks
Ok so im wanting to step up from the Stock suspension on my 08' X. I mainly ride a mix of trail and MX. I want to get into racing more in the spring(hopefully qualify for canams racer support program) Right now im looking between two setups. ether FOX evo Float and 1.5" longer A arms or Stock a arms and FOX float Rs. I like how light the R series are and itll be alot cheaper. There web site said there a good trail shock and would work for most racing. Would it be worth the extra 1k to get the wider a arms and more adjustability in the shocks? Thanks

i think you have to think are you really going to race or just try it ,if your going to just try it save the $1000 and buy some flex bar with a new stem and tierods....now if you know for sure your going race every race you can and you can win get the evo's either way its a win win ,any air shock is a big step up it the handling dept

get a-ams for sure. They help so much in the corners. The a-arms offered in the racer support program, stock xmx 09 ones, are awesome, and well, the shocks are too. Ive run the set up all year and I am in love with it. Better than the fox front end on my friends Honda for sure.

I'd get the 50" setup as well. If your gonna do some MX it will be the biggest improvement you will make, and as long as your not in super super tight trails, you will notice an improvement in the trails as well. If you are in the Racer support program you can get the Arms pretty cheap, if not, I can sell ya a set for cheap.

Xrider77 i might just have to hit u up on that offer. I know i want to race i just never really had the time/money to travel all over before now. I dont ever ride real tight trails or anything mainly mx, open trails and alot of gravels so i should be good. I already bought my quad new about 3weeks ago. I didnt know about the racer program than. hopefully i can still get on it.

He must have the wrong air pressure set set for his type of riding. That's the only problem with Fox shocks. If they aren't set up correctly they aren't all that good. I would go with the Fox Float X Evols out of your two choices. You'll also shave some weight going with the fox shocks over the stock shocks.

They are hard to tune if you don't read the manual.

the float evols are sooooo tough to get tuned to your liking i dont know what it is but it just seems their more sensitive than regular coilsprings. but if you get em dialed in they are so sick. i rode a honda trx700xx with the fox evols front and rear and it was a dream ride
