The MX package has the ride height set at 7" for an average rider and the XC set at 7.5"... getting 7" from the XC shocks should be no problem unless you weight 135 or less.

WE ride MX 7 1/4" front, 7" rear a little low for the "train tracks" but we can clear the triples and step ups fine. We did restack the shims and also had to move to 15 wt syn in the rear shock. 10 wt syn in fronts. Regular shock oil broke down after 2 moto's.
Anybody know where i can by seal kits for the KYB's?
a new set of PEP's are on order, that should solve our problems along with a walsh Plus 1" swing arm.

More on setup
Ok. I've got an 08 DS450X (not the newer XC shocks) and I was wondering how high is too high to thread the collar to set ride height. Currently, I can only get the rear about 8.5" at the footpegs. It worries me that when I lift the back of the quad up to get the weight off the shocks, the spring is fully unloaded and the collar is above it with room in between. Is this normal? Or do I need to thread the collar down so that it meets the spring? Just not sure if I can thread it further up to get the ride height down a bit. It's kinda weird because I am about 215lb and it still doesn't sit down to 7.5"...
Thanks
Jeff

Oh yeah, and it's bumpy as hell. I ride in rough trail type with a lot of smaller rocks. Currently, the trails are harder packed snow from snowmobiles and almost like moguls the whole time.....Not quite sure the best settings to fix this as everything I try doesn't seem to work so well....

Sounds like your spring rate is too high for your weight, the rear spring should be at 10" when suspended and there should be some tension on the spring to get the ride height to 7 1/2 - 8 no gaps...Sounds like you need a better set-up to fix this. Agree odd a 215 person can't get the ride height.

I did not know if you got your shocks figered out yet ,but it is going to be hard to set your stock X shocks up right .these shocks are not made to be set at 7 1/2 inch ride height. the shafts need to be shortned and revalved with different springs to make then work right at 7 1/2 ride height. The XXC shocks are made to ridn at that height.Hope this helps rodney

I think on the 2010 xxc they switched back to the 2008x shocks with 2009 xxc springs on them so i think you should be able to get down to 7.5 ride height if you add the 09xxc springs

YOUR REALLY GOING TO HAVE TO REVALVE YOUR SHOCKS TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THEM,for your weight.
