Paint on stock ds rims

I have the stock ds polished rims. I was wondering if i scuff them up with sandpaper or something along those lines if paint would stick to them. Also if anybody else has done so. Thanks.

paint will just chip ive been using 3M undercoating with rubber in it ,its worked well

that sounds like a good idea. Never thought about that. Did you take the tire off the rim or just tape around the rim?

i have x rims but i did my nerf bars and rear grab bar
