Not good for anything
If you want good trail size tires go for 20-10-9 in the rear and 21-7-10 in the fronts
If ur running mx 18-10-8 in the rear and 20-7-10 fronts

I think they would be good for the clearance aspect, but you'd probably have to change your gearing (I would go down a tooth in the front) for it to work better and not stall too much on the slow parts.

I run 20 in rear for dunes, track, and mud/trail. And 22 fronts for everything now, will never change!

First off tires can vary allot most 22 reaars are a XC style an a big tire yet there are 20 an 21 that are dang near the same size. Some guys love them where theres rocks or deep ruts etc... Some wont run anything else all depends on where you are. Speed can get you aways but some places you can only go so fast.
I ran 22 years back cause I had them an they got me through deep muddy trails where I kept getting stuck with smaller tires. I also ran 22" sandstars an liked them. I stay out of the mud now an If you do run 22 I would think a 10 rim would probably be the way to go.

Also If you are running a quad that has good bottom end those 22 are not so bad, yet on a stock ds450 you will notice that big tire, a gear change like Jeffo mentioned will help, yet if you had say a raptor 660 that has allot of bottom an no rev lol those 22 will work much better

I run the 23's in the front and 22's in the rear.were i ride ground clearence is very important.listen i know the stock 20's are good allaround tire .but in the rocks and roots of maine,as well as the lousy rear skid plate (that lasted one ride).as well as a prm full swing arm skid plate.so yeh for trail riding the 22 will be fine
